Chappie Hall Scholarship Program

All requests for consideration must be received by the end of May each year.

  1. OBJECTIVE : The objective of this program is to provide financial assistance to worthy students who have the potential to become assets to our nation. The major factors to be considered in the evaluation and rating of applicants are eligibility, career objectives, academic record, financial need and insight gained from the letter requesting consideration and letters of recommendation.


  2. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
    1. Applicant maintained an overall "c" or better grade average during the past school year.

    2. Applicant's parent, grandparent, husband or wife is (or if deceased was) a regular or life (not Associate) member of the 101st Airborne Division Association.



  3. REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION: The following information must be submitted in order to be considered for the award of a scholarship grant:
    1. A typed letter in which the applicant will briefly discuss the following subjects in addition to others he or she may consider relevant.

      • Hobbies, interests, and personal achievements.
      • Career objectives - near term and long term.
      • Name of school, college or university applicant plans to attend and why chosen.
      • How a higher education for the applicant in his/her chosen field can benefit our nation.
      • Relative importance of financial assistance.


    2. Proof of membership of parent, grandparent, husband, or wife in the 101st Airborne Division Association (see paragraph 2 (b) above).

    3. A transcript of school records including, as a minimum, the past school year.

    4. Two letters of recommendation (from other than a relative). One must be from a teacher.

    5. A small photo (head and shoulders) to be used for publication in "The Screaming Eagle" if scholarship grant is awarded.

    6. Letter of acceptance from a university or college and the address of the department or office at the university or college where a scholarship check could be mailed.

    7. All the material, listed above, (a) through (g), must be forwarded to:
