The Michigan Chapter announces its 2008 reunion. The gathering will be in Clare, MI the weekend of September 12th and 13th.
The Holiday Inn Express at 10318 South Clare Ave. will be the headquarters hotel. A special rate of $50 a room (plus tax) has been negotiated. Phone 989-386-1111 to book your reservation. Be sure to mention you are with the 101st Airborne to get this rate. Cut off date for the special rate is August 12th so call before then.
Both Friday and Saturday dinners will be held at the Clare VFW Post #5738, located at 145 Wilcox Parkway. Friday will feature a wiener roast outside along the river. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs. Saturday will feature a Chapter meeting at 10AM at the VFW. Dinner will start with a social hour at 5:30. Costs for both meals are being worked out.
Special activities are being arranged for the ladies. Jennifer Whipple has some real treats in store for you! Fishing is great and the VFW is located right on the river so bring you poles and licenses. President Bruce Whipple is arranging a MRE tasting event so we can see if things have improved since K and C rations.
Chapter members, watch your mail boxes for your postcard with information. Also, please locate and bring your favorite picture of you in the service. It will be used for a special project and you will be able to take it home with you.

Lunch Bunch
George Koskimaki's "Lunch Bunch" meets the third Wednesday of the month at the Finnish Cultural Center, 35200 West 8 Mile Road, Farmington Hills, Michigan. This is an "all airborne" group with veterans of all branches of the service and all eras. Starting time is 11:00 a.m. George should be contacted no later than Monday for reservations at (248) 348-1037. July and August are vacation months so the next meeting is September 20.
