Screaming Eagle Homecoming

An advanced party of the Division started arriving at Fort Campbell from Iraq on 01/11/04, with the mission to prepare for the rest of the Screaming Eagles who arrived over the next few weeks.  This marked the beginning of their preparation for their next Rendezvous with Destiny.  The active division was deployed to Iraq in 2003, and they performed above and beyond.  These pictures show the spirit of the Screaming Eagles and those who love them as they arrived home.

The attached collection of about thirty photos were supplied by Billy Colwell, Kimberly Kintrup and CSM (R) Joseph M. Bossi over the duration while the Division came home.  These pictures were selected from four original pages.

Line Up:  They line up to receive a well deserved official "Welcome Home" and a big "Thank You" for a job well done.  Many banners were hung inside and outside the hanger to remind them once more their "Band of Brothers and Sisters" were very proud of them.  (photo courtesy of Kim Kintrup)

Returning Screaming Eagles finally got their well deserved hugs and kisses.  Not all of the soldiers had family waiting, we should be there to say "Welcome Home Brother and Sister".  (photo courtesy of Kim Kintrup)

After the General gave his speech, he ordered the colors to be retired. The people stood in silence while the orders were given and the color guard stepped off and exited the building.   (photo courtesy of Kim Kintrup)

No-Slack Formation - No-Slack Soldier's from A, B and C Companies and fellow Screaming Eagles, stand in formation in the hanger at the airfield being used to welcome home our hero's.  They were all humble and overwhelmed by the reception on their return.   While in Iraq, one of their greatest fears was in meeting the standards of former Screaming Eagle's that served before them.  I for one conveyed our feelings - We are proud of them and their service, and they have met their Rendezvous With Destiny.   Welcome Home and No-Slack.
