Reunion/National/and Chapter Activities

The purpose of this page is to put all information on all upcoming reunions in one place, including the 101st Airborne Division Assn. Annual Reunion.  This information is in chronological order, with the next reunion/function listed first.

February 20, 2008              PARATROOPERS COMING TO FORT CAMPBELL. KY/CLARKSVILLE. TN

The Paratroopers who served in the 1st Battalion (Airborne), 501st Infantry, "the Geronimo Battalion" that was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY, in 1965 & 66, and later re-designated as the 4th Battalion (Airborne), 503rd Infantry in April of 1966, will be conducting a reunion on June 13 & 14, 2008, at the Riverview Inn, 50 College Street, Clarksville, TN. The cost of the reunion will be $50 per person and the signup deadline is April 1, 2008.

800 members of the 4/503d sailed to Viet Nam on 6 June 1966, to join up with the 173d Airborne Brigade (Sep), and aboard the ship were 3 PFC's who would later receive a posthumous award of the Medal of Honor during one of their tour with the 173d Airborne Brigade.

On 24 September 1973, US Army General Orders 32 was issued and the 4/503d was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation (Navy) for its service with the 3rd Marine Division in the fall of 1966. The 4/503d was at that time the 1st US Army ground combat unit to serve in the I Corps region of South Viet Nam.

Michael D. Healy, or "Iron Mike", the former Battalion Commander of the 4/503d would later be promoted to Colonel and lead the 5th Special Forces Group in Viet Nam and retire in 1981 as a Major General.

Many former members of the 4/503d have retired in the local area and this will be the 1st reunion of the 4/503d to be held in the Ft. Campbell area and other reunions have been held in the area of Ft. Bragg, NC. Family survivors of those who served in the 4/503d in 66 & 67, are encouraged to attend the reunion.

"Hook Up With The Herd"! Contact Mr. Jack Tarr at (703) 821-6838 or via his email address: jtarr5@cox.net. Sign up by April 1, 2008.

Canadian Airborne Force Reunion

The Canadian Airborne Force Reunion is scheduled for June 19-21, 2008. This reunion will be held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; the home garrison for the formation of the Airborne Regiment.

Although promoted as "The Canadian Airborne Regiment Reunion 2008, the Organizing Committee and members of The Edmonton Airborne Social Club are extending an Airborne Brotherhood welcome for all to attend.

As with so many relationships between the Canadian and the United States military our airborne forces have trained, deployed together and maintained a solid brotherhood with each other. This reunion is to further foster that relationship.

It is with pleasure that we extend this invitation to members of the 101st brotherhood. Please click on the links to learn more information.
